Fairbanks Dispatcher/Driver

Position Summary

The role of the Fairbanks Dispatcher/Driver is to assist Part-time in PAT’s Fairbanks office and drive part-time as needed. Dispatchers are the primary contact for guest service issues and tracking misplaced luggage and lost and found items. Dispatchers are the problem solvers and are responsible for maintaining all daily operations documents and clearly communicating daily activities to PAT field staff. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties of the Fairbanks Dispatcher/Driver include:

  • Handle e-mail, phone, and radio traffic communications during a manager on duty shift

  • Handle and resolve any guest service issues

  • Locate and expedite lost luggage/lost & found items

  • Generate, maintain, and update daily operations documents including manifests, logs, and schedules

  • Update and file various reports for the Motorcoach department

  • Dispatching coaches at different locations around the city

  • Complete administrative duties as needed

  • Drive motorcoaches or other company vehicles as needed

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a Transfer Driver position:

  • 21 years of age or older by May 1 of the year for which applying

  • Successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and just cause drug & alcohol testing

  • Possess a valid state commercial drivers license.

  • Must be able to handle baggage and able to lift 50 - 75 pounds repeatedly

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Successfully complete a driver training program and pass all associated tests

  • Possess knowledge and thorough understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

  • A current Commercial Drivers License (Class B) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is required

  • A minimum of 2 years motorcoach driving experience in Alaska is preferred




Applicants who have received any of the following violations within the previous 3 years will be disqualified:

  • Driving 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit

  • Following vehicle ahead too closely

  • Improper or erratic lane change

  • Reckless driving

  • A violation arising in connection with a fatal accident (other than a parking violation)


Cannot have the following convictions:

  • DWI or DUI

  • Refusal to undergo such testing as required by any State or jurisdiction

  • More than 1 moving violation within the previous 2 years

  • Leaving the scene of an accident

  • Commission of a felony


This position pays $15/hour plus gratuities
