Position Summary – Dispatcher
The role of the Anchorage or Fairbanks Dispatcher is to staff PAT’s Operations Center. They are the liaisons between Managers, Supervisors, and field staff. Dispatchers are also a primary contact for guest service issues and tracking misplaced luggage and lost and found items. Dispatchers are the problem solvers and are responsible for maintaining all daily operations documents and clearly communicating daily activities to PAT field staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties of the Dispatcher include:
- Handle e-mail, phone, and radio traffic communications during a manager on duty shift
- Handle and resolve any guest service issues
- Locate and expedite lost luggage/lost & found items
- Generate, maintain, and update daily operations documents including manifests, logs, and schedules
- Update and file various reports for the Motorcoach department
- Dispatching coaches at different locations around the city
- Complete administrative duties as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
The Dispatcher must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a U.S. Citizen or be able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to work mid-April thru September
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Having a CDL is preferable, but not necessary for consideration
- Have excellent guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Be able to lift 50-75 pounds repetitively
- Be able to work long hours
