Seward Shuttle Driver

Position Summary

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated locations while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to safety, and the ability to interact professionally with passengers, and team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate company shuttle vehicles along assigned routes in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including luggage or mobility aids as needed.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized shuttle interior and exterior.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, and passengers regarding schedules and delays.
  • Use a tablet to schedule morning shuttle pickups.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive travel experience for all team members.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, breakdowns, or unexpected situations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Clean driving record with proven safe driving history.
  • No DUI or DWI in the last 20 years.
  • Must be able to pass a physical to obtain DOT Medical card
  • Must be able to handle luggage and be able to lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Professional, friendly demeanor and commitment to customer service.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Previous experience driving shuttle buses, vans, or commercial vehicles.
  • Familiarity with two-way radio communication and tablets.
  • Knowledge of local routes and destinations.

Working Conditions

  • Sitting for long periods while operating the vehicle.
  • Getting in and out of vehicle at each pickup/drop-off location to assist passengers and their luggage.
  • Occasional exposure to weather conditions when assisting passengers or performing inspections.
  • Fast-paced environment with constant focus on safety and timeliness.
  • Seasonal position from early May to Mid-September.
